Presence and influence on social networks around various thematic axes, driving force and reference point in campaigns

Xnet is a network of specialists and activists proposing advanced solutions in different fields related to digital rights and the renewal of democracy in the 21st century, such as digital rights, privacy, data use, AI, and net neutrality; freedom of expression and information vs fake news, propaganda and disinformation; the defense of informants/whistleblowers, citizen leaks and anti-corruption action; technopolitics and civic engagement; updating democracy through political R&D methods, transparency and participation (the real kind); free culture; and civil liberties struggles in general.

Since 2008, for a free Internet and a real democracy.

We promote citizen action platforms such as: oXcars, FCForum, Molina Pírate, Sinde Pírate, RedSostenible, stop-ACTA, Blackout Europe, D-evolution Summit, The Internet Will Not Become Another Television, oXcars, FcForum, Aritmética 20N, 15M, 15Mparato, Partido X, VdeVivienda…

Building relationships with other collectives, citizen lobbies and networks is key to achieving major international goals, avoiding duplicated efforts and exchanging practices and knowledge. To this end, over the years and through work on concrete projects, Xnet has built a vast network of contacts within international activism and established peer relationships with dozens of groups and organizations.

It is our capacity as individuals to participate in civic life that creates democracy.

Xnet works along these lines, both by advising other collectives — on new tools, networked democracy, new forms of citizen organization, etc. — fully focused on fighting for these freedoms, and by directly participating in civil society campaigns.
