Theatre director, playwright, technopolitical strategist, independent consultant, and activist, in 2017 Rolling Stone magazine selected Simona Levi as one of the 25 people shaping the future<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Since 2018, she has designed and co-directed the Postgraduate Course in Technopolitics and Rights in the Digital Age<\/em><\/a>, first at Universitat Pompeu Fabra and later at the University of Barcelona<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

She is the initiator of projects such as Xnet<\/strong> \u2014 Institute for Democratic Digitalisation and Digital Rights \u2014 and 15MPARATO<\/strong><\/a>, which drove the Bankia case \u2014 the fifth-largest bank in the Spanish state \u2014 and the \u201cblack cards\u201d case, which led to the conviction of 65 politicians and bankers<\/strong>, 15 of whom were imprisoned, including Spain\u2019s former Minister of Economy and former President of the International Monetary Fund.<\/p>\n

In 2021, she published for the Publications Office of the European Union the report \u201cProposal for a Sovereign and Democratic Digitalisation of Europe<\/a>\u201d, at the request of the President of the European Parliament.<\/p>\n

She is the author of several books.<\/strong> Among them: \u201cDemocratic Digitalisation. Digital Sovereignty for the People<\/a>\u201d (Rayo Verde, 2024); \u201cFake You \u2013 An Activist\u2019s Guide to Defeating Disinformation<\/a> (English)<\/em> \u2013 Don\u2019t blame the people, don\u2019t blame the Internet. Blame the power\u201d (Xnet, 2024); \u201c#FakeYou \u2014 Fake News and Disinformation<\/a> \u2013 Governments, political parties, mass media, corporations, great fortunes: monopolies of information manipulation and curtailment of freedom of expression\u201d (Rayo Verde, 2019); \u201cVote and Get Paid. Impunity as a Form of Government<\/a>\u201d (Capit\u00e1n Swing, 2017); \u201c\u201cTecnopol\u00edtica, internet y r-evoluciones<\/a>\u201d and \u201cCultura libre digital<\/a>\u2013 Basic Notions to Defend What Belongs to Everyone\u201d, the latter two published in 2012 by Icaria.<\/p>\n

Her performances<\/strong> have been staged in theatres and festivals<\/strong> throughout Europe, and she has created high-impact festivals such as OXcars<\/a> and InnMotion<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She is a member of the Working Group on European Digital Sovereignty and Common Digital Tools and Infrastructures<\/strong> of the Directorate-General for Strategic Planning of the Ministry for Digital Transformation of the Government of Spain.<\/p>\n

She is and has been a media commentator and advisor to countless civic organisations and institutions<\/strong>, including the Spanish Government\u2019s Secretariat of State for Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence<\/a>; the Directorate for Digital Society and the Directorate-General for Digital Administration of the Government of Catalonia<\/a> (in both institutions she was a member of the advisory group for drafting the Charter of Digital Rights); the Department of Justice of the Government of Catalonia on the Whistleblower Protection Law; the Ministry of Culture\u2019s Cultural Rights Plan; evaluator for the European Commission on projects applying for funding in the field of democratic improvement; Bithabitat \u2013 Barcelona City Council\u2019s Urban Innovation Platform<\/a>; the i2CAT Foundation\u2019s Internet and Digital Innovation Research Centre; the Human Rights Advisory Council of the Government of Catalonia; and the European Public Mosaic \u2013 Open Journal on Public Service of the School of Public Administration of Catalonia.<\/p>\n

She has been a prominent figure of the 15M movement <\/strong>from Barcelona and of movements for the right to housing.<\/p>\n<\/div>
